Register now for Chinese Corp Summer Camp at Oakland Center

Applications are being accepted for the Wayne State University China Corps Summer Camp in Farmington Hills. This new offering at the university’s Oakland Center is a two-week Chinese language and culture enrichment program for middle and high school students that includes

  • language instruction
  • calligraphy
  • paper folding
  • tai chi fan dancing
  • Chinese songs
  • cultural activities

Students in seventh- through 12th grade with little or no exposure to the Chinese language, as well as those at an intermediate level, are welcome. Students should be committed to the goal of learning to speak, read and write Chinese.

Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays July 18 – 29, includes a Chinese lunch each Thursday and a T-shirt. Camp costs $199; a 10 percent discount is available for siblings registered in one transaction. Schools and teachers can submit their students’ applications as a group.
