Lauren Orr

Biography

As Program Manager for Fellowships and High-Impact Learning, Lauren helps students access opportunities (international and domestic) that fuel academic and professional development. Through the Office of Fellowships, she promotes funded, external opportunities to the campus community, and provides dedicated advising to students exploring and applying for them. In doing so, Lauren facilitates developmental application processes that serve students' future pursuits of jobs and graduate study.

Prior to working at Wayne State, Lauren was Associate Director for Fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania, where she advised applicants and managed campus processes for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the Truman Scholarship, and a range of other international, experiential and/or public service fellowships. She joined the WSU community in Fall 2021 as an academic advisor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - Public Health. Lauren has also been an advisor at the George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs and at Columbia University.
