Biography

Dr. Ahmad Ezzeddine is the Senior Vice Provost for Partnerships, Workforce and International Initiatives at Wayne State University (WSU) in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Ezzeddine’s responsibilities include leadership and management for WSU’s academic and corporate educational outreach programs and workforce development initiatives, off-campus programs, transfer programs and partnerships with community colleges, and collaborations with university colleges seeking to launch new degree and non-degree programs.

As WSU’s Senior International Officer, Dr. Ezzeddine leads the university’s global engagement which includes oversight of all international university affiliations and partnerships, strategic and operational responsibility for the direction for WSU’s international initiatives and activities including operational oversight for international recruiting, study abroad, and university global education and research. A member of the Board of Directors of NAFSA: Association of International Educators since 2019, he serves as NAFSA’s elected Vice President for Scholarship and Institutional Strategy. Dr. Ezzeddine was selected by the Institute of International Education (IIE) as Senior International Officer of the Year (2022).

A firm proponent of the crucial role that universities play in driving economic and community development, he is responsible for forging linkages with organizations in the City of Detroit and the region and supporting community engagement and workforce development initiatives. Dr. Ezzeddine is leading the launch of the institutional College to Career initiative to better prepare and support students, graduates, and alumni for 21st century careers and align university efforts with workforce trends and needs. In addition, he currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities’ (APLU) Commission on Economic and Community Engagement. He is also the current Chair of the Board of Directors of ACCESS, the largest Arab American community nonprofit in the United States.
