Biography
Fareed Y. Shalhout is the Associate Director of Student Programs for Educational Outreach and the Office of International Programs at Wayne State University. In this role, Fareed is responsible for the developing, planning, and executing federally funded short-term programs through sponsors such as the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State, Institute of International Education (IIE), and International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX). Fareed manages a budget portfolio for these programs.
Fareed is responsible for developing and managing relationships with a variety of embassies He is responsible for international recruitment efforts for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Additionally, Fareed is responsible for developing student success programs for international students and is the main contact for international students for non-immigration related matters. He oversees the teaching and support staff, enrollment management and all policies in the English Language Institute.
Prior to joining this division, Fareed held the role as the Orientation Coordinator under Student Success. Fareed is actively involved in professional organizations and on several campus committees. Fareed is committed to student success and has extensive background and experience in student support services.
