Alumni are helping staff from the Office of International Programs recruit new students in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education. Dean-Michael Lynn (right, center) of the English Language Institute (ELI) is in the WSU booth with alumni Ibrahem Almarhaby (left) and Omar G. Baker. Almarhaby received a master's in Near Eastern Studies in 2014. He is a lecturer in Arabic language and literature and coordinator of International Cooperation at Al-Jouf University in Sakaka, Saudi Arabia. Baker, who received a PhD in Nursing in 2003, is an associate professor and head of the Unit of e-Learning & Information Technology in the College of Nursing at King Saud University in Riyadh.

Alumnus Ibrahim Alothaim (left), who received a master's in Near Eastern Studies in 2014, also stopped by the Wayne State booth. He is a lecturer in Arabic language and literature at King Saud University. Both Almarhaby and Alothaim started in ELI then matriculated into WSU. Alothaim plans to continue his education with a PhD in linguistics. More than 160 Saudi students attend WSU.
