Canadian student-athletes shine with All-Academic accolades
Canadian student-athletes are crushing it with GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) All-Academic accolades this season.

In softball, student-athletes receiving All-Academic Excellence Team honors for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 were senior Kristen Lucas (Newmarket, Ont.), junior Jamie MacNeil (Brampton, Ont.)

and sophomores Rachelle Clayton (Guelph, Ont.) and Brooke Turkalj (St. Jacobs, Ont.).

Lucas (kinesiology) earned Excellence Team recognition for the third straight season, while MacNeil (kinesiology) was honored for the second consecutive year. Clayton (nursing) and Turkalj (biological sciences) were first-time eligible in 2018.


Receiving All-Academic Team accolades for having a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 are junior Hannah McClounie (Essex, Ont.) and sophomore Emma Adams (Rockwood, Ont.). McClounie (kinesiology) earned her second All-Academic recognition, while Adams (kinesiology) was eligible for the first time.


In women's outdoor track and field, senior Lauren Bohn (Windsor, Ont.) received All-Academic honors for an overall GPA between 3.0 and 3.49. It is the third time the chemical engineering major was lauded for her academic accomplishments.

Men's golf honorees include senior Jesse Hogan (Kingston, Ont.), who was recognized for the second time for carrying a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49. He is a kinesiology major.
