Fall 2021 international student SEVP guidance

The guidance provided in March 2020 by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) relating to online classes has been extended for the 2021-22 academic year.

Current international students

If you were enrolled at Wayne State on March 9, 2020, current students may continue their program of study even if all of your classes are online.

New international students

If entering the U.S. for your studies, you must take at least one in-person or hybrid course. Please see your academic adviser for assistance finding a course that meets the requirements.

Additional information
SEVP recently updated its frequently asked questions with information to help clarify the application of the March 2020 guidance to the 2021-22 academic year and will continue to update these resources as needed.

COVID vaccinations for Wayne State students

Although WSU has not made the vaccine mandatory, members of the Wayne State community are strongly encouraged to get it. International students can sign up for a free COVID-19 vaccine from the Campus Health Center. More details and the registration link are online.

Please know that international students are an important part of our university community, and we will keep you updated with information as we receive it. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of International Students and Scholars at oissmail@wayne.edu.
