IIE Opens Emergency Student Fund for Iranian Students in the US
IIE has opened an emergency student fund for Iranian students, in the US, to provide them with some financial relief.
Grants up to $2,000 are available to Iranian students enrolled in US colleges and universities who are facing serious financial difficulties due to the currency devaluation in Iran.
The support is to provide assistance during the Spring 2013 term.
IIE will allow each institute to nominate up to two students for support. Priority will be given to those with the most urgent financial need and those closest to graduation.
If you are an Iranian student that will be registered in the Sprig 2013 semester and are in need of emergency financial relief, please come in to see an advisor and bring a statement that includes the following information:
- First and Last Name
- Banner ID
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Citizenship
- Visa Type
- I-20/DS-2019 Sponsor
- A detailed statement of your financial situation for Spring 2013. This statement must indicate how you are being financially impacted by the situation in Iran, and list the expenses that an award from the Iran-ESF (Emergency Student Fund) will help cover.
OISS will collect the information and make our decisions based on the information in the submitted requests.
