Ketchup & Curry: Your Guide to Life and Success in America
Book-signing and visit with alumnus Vivek Sreedhar
Tuesday Nov. 17, noon, Hilberry A, Student Center
International Week 2015
Ever wonder what American students mean when they invite you to "pre-game?" What about learning to convert rupees/renminbi/euros to dollars or what the best cell phone plan is for international calling?
Studying in America can be tough for an international student, and alumnus Vivek Sreedhar knows the challenges firsthand. So, to help students learn to navigate life in a new country and at Wayne State, Sreedhar will share his experiences as an international student and provide tips that will help all students prepare for success both inside and outside the classroom during a special presentation at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Hilberry A of the Student Center.
Sreedhar's humorous and informative reflections on his time at Wayne State will help all students bridge the gap between cultures, and there will be plenty of time to ask him questions. He'll also be signing copies of his book "Ketchup & Curry: Your Guide to Life and Success in America."
Sreedhar, who works in marketing/R&D for Alps Electric North America, received a master's in electrical engineering in 2006 and an MBA in 2009, both from Wayne State. He's eager to share his insights with fellow Warriors!
The event, part of International Education Week 2015, is hosted by the Business Student Senate in conjunction with the School of Business, College of Engineering, Office of International Programs and WSU Alumni Association.
