Sophia Schwind

Biography

 As a Program Coordinator, Sophia's primary role is student advising, and office promotion at events. She additionally works closely with the Associate Director for Program logistics, marketing needs of the office, and a variety of other tasks. Sophia obtained a B.A. in Visual Communication Design from Kent State University in 2019. During her undergraduate program, she studied abroad for two semesters at the KSU Florence, Italy campus obtaining two minors in Global Communication and Italian Studies. Following her first semester in Florence, she participated in a summer exchange program through the College of Communication and Information at KSU in conjunction with IUP in Beijing and Chengdu, China with a focus on English and Literature courses. During the summer of 2017 she participated in a GIVE volunteers program to Jiquilillo, and Little Corn Island, Nicaragua learning about water and reef conservation as well as recycling practices, in addition to assisting in English language teaching, and various building projects. Post-graduation she worked in Florence, Italy for a student-oriented travel company as a graphic designer, and assisted with sales and guiding European trips when opportunities were presented. Post-pandemic, she decided to further her education and received an M.A. in Cross-Cultural and International Education with a concentration in Non-Profit Communication and Grant-Writing from Bowling Green State University in 2022.
