Apply

Undergraduate Students

If you are an undergraduate transfer student, you can learn more about the transfer application process and deadlines by visiting the Transfer Student Success Center website.

When you are ready to apply, you can complete the undergraduate transfer application and submit all required documents. For applicants who have completed undergraduate coursework outside of the United States, please note that we highly recommend that you submit a course-by-course academic evaluation in the form of an ECE or WES evaluation for maximum transfer credit consideration.

Graduate Students

If you are a graduate student looking to transfer into a graduate program at Wayne State University, consult with your academic program of interest to determine if it is possible to transfer your graduate-level credits, or if you will be considered as a new graduate student. You can find the contact for your academic program of interest on the corresponding program page.

When you are ready to apply, you can complete the graduate application for admission and submit all required documents.

Next Steps For Admitted Students

If you are admitted, the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) will email you to confirm that you are studying at an SEVP-certified school and plan to transfer your current I-20 to WSU.

You and your international advisor at your current institution must then complete the Transfer-in Form and transfer your SEVIS record to WSU.

Once you complete the above steps and your I-20 is released from your current school, your new I-20 will be created. OISS will contact you to ask whether you want your new I-20 mailed to you or whether you can come to OISS to pick it up in-person. As soon as you have your new I-20, you can register for mandatory OISS check-in.

If you have questions about the transfer-in process, email us for help at i20unit@wayne.edu.
