The Wayne difference
At Wayne State University, we believe that it is important and accessible for all students to study abroad. We are dedicated to providing a quality experience from application to return. Programs are designed to compliment normal academic calendars. They are offered for as short as a week or as long as a year.
Coursework and Credits
If you decide to participate in a program with WSU, you will receive WSU credit. You will not have to hassle with transferring credit or coordinating with another university.
Quality of Instructors and Courses
When going on a program abroad with a Wayne State professor, you are assured that you will receive the same academic standard abroad. On-site advisors and program directors from Wayne State understand what our students find important.
Experienced On-site Program Leaders
Faculty-led programs are program leaders that are generally professors with directly related, extensive, first-hand experience with the culture encountered during the program. This provides students with a readily accessible trip advisor that speaks the language, is able to navigate transportation, and is well versed in the customs of a specific country. This helps create a smooth and safe transition for students.
First-Hand Cultural Activities
Every year Wayne State Program Coordinators and Leaders design activities for students that integrate the main cultural immersion aspect of studying abroad. We work closely with professors to assure that participants are not only learning through traditional teaching but also through first-hand cultural experiences.
