Arriving on campus
When you arrive at WSU, you will need to check in at OISS and attend an orientation. This is also a good time to finalize housing arrangements, schedule classes and pay any outstanding fees.
Department orientation
You should contact your host department to schedule an individual or group orientation session.
OISS check-in
New international H-1B and J scholars are required to report to OISS for check-in. This allows us to officially document your arrival and make sure you have everything you need.
You cannot sign up for a check-in session until you arrive in the U.S. Registration for check-in sessions opens about 30 days prior to the start of each semester. Until further notice, all check-in sessions will be held online.
Register for a check-in session
Before you attend check-in, you should pay the WSU SEVIS fee and purchase the required health insurance.
When you report to OISS for check-in, be sure to bring:
-
-
- Your I-129 Approval Notice or DS-2019
- Your passport
- Your I-94
- Your offer letter
- Proof that you have purchased the required health insurance or documentation that your host/department is providing it
- Proof that you have paid WSU SEVIS fee
